In designing a trade show graphic or a product brochure, the final output is essential to know in the planning and design of the graphics. Design and production for a large format trade show graphic is different than printing for a high end print product brochure. Both of these are much different than the design for a desktop flyer or a electronic doc or PDF.

Photo image resolution is essential to success in high end printing. Resolution is measured in dots per inch or dip. 72 dpi is low resolution. 300 to 600 dpi is medium resolution. A 600 dpi or 1200 dpi image will work for medium to some high end printing. For desktop and electronic output 150 dpi will work well. Websites only require a 72 dpi image. Generally and almost always a 72 dpi image can not be changed to a 150 dpi, 300 dpi or higher resolution image.
